Gifts for teachers, chosen by teachers: 34 ideas that will really love | Parents and breeding of children

What buys from the person who has helped shape the mind, life and future perspectives of his beloved son every school during the past year? No pressure.

We talked to 17 teachers from all over the country to discover what they would really like as gifts at the end of the year. Many of them receive alcohol and chocolates in repetition, but from plants and bags of bags to flight lessons (yes, really), this is what they would really like to receive.

The best gifts for teachers

Hand -written cards

Many teachers we are talking about, these cards were the most memorable they have received over the years (and it is worth taking the time to involve their children to do something homemade). Sam, an English teacher at Essex, says: “They are the things I keep and look back. I have a photo album in which I keep them all, but some are also on my board at work.”

“I work in a private area and some of the most significant gifts I have received are the handwritten cards of my students,” Steph agrees, a primary school teacher in Yorkshire. “I keep each one in an album of cuts. There is no need to spend money when a reflexive note means much more.”

Arts and crafts

Logic can suggest that teachers are ready for a rest of craft projects for children, but this is not what we hear.

“One of the best gifts I have received was a handbag, where the children wrote messages, drew photos or signed their names,” says Jill, a elementary school teacher withdrawn from southern London.

Meanwhile, Claire*, a biology teacher based in Oxford, told us: “A student painted a cup with a drawing of me and all the things he had told them he loved, which was very sweet.” Others, including Dawn, a primary school teacher withdrawal from Hertfordshire, rewards the art of her students. “One of the best gifts I received was a framed drawing that a child had done,” she says.

Personalized gifts

From bags to markers, personalized gifts were favorites among the teachers we talked to. “Once I received a marker with my name, I love it,” says Lisa, says A primary school teacher of Cardiff. “For me, the more personal, the better,” says Karen, a Manchester teacher. “The favorites have included a beautiful copy of my favorite book and framed impressions related to our class texts.”

The Primary School teacher Rob* once received a Lego Superman keychain with his name recorded at the Cape: “The best gift I have received,” he says.

Joint gifts

An entire class gift may seem an evasion, but they are universally well received, says Rob. “The best gift, which I think all teachers really want to receive, is the Gift of Club Bed-Together. Then, instead of 20 cups and some chocolates, you get a single gift that is worth much more. For me, that was coupons, but friends have received coffee and even an iPad.”

Jill agrees: “The coupons of the whole class have been fantastic because they have allowed me to buy things that I would not normally get for me, such as jewelry or perfume pieces.”

Be attentive to the bargains. “In my daughter's primary school, we bought a coupon of Champneys for their teacher when they offered an additional 30%loan,” says Louise, ESSEX Senior School teacher.

But they don't have be elements of great ticket. Several teachers were delighted with coffee shopping coupons. Beverley, a primary school teacher from Liverpool, told us: “I would say that my favorite gift has been a token of Waterstones books.”

Stationery

A planner may seem a bit rumorous, but they are popular gifts. “The flowers can be wasted, especially if you go on vacation the next day, but these teachers planners, designed by teachers, are great,” says Beverley. And, for a higher stationery table offering, try a pen. “Two families joined and bought me a beautiful Montblanc pen, which still uses daily,” says Louise.

To the cup or not to the cup

When it comes to cups, the teachers divided. As the director said: “I have been teaching for 20 years. If I had kept them all, I would have a cup store.”

But Billy, a Liverpool's teacher, said: “They have given me some specific joke cups of the subject related to the coding of computers that would only obtain computer geeks. They are quite reflective.” Or try a bottle, says Rob.

Experiences

Teachers have often taught hundreds of students over the years, so it is useful to think about what you (and only you) could choose as a reflective gift.

“My best gift was when a family invited me to his store in eastern London and made a suit,” says Dawn. Meanwhile, they are heading the lot, saying: “A child of a child in my class was training to be a pilot, so they presented a flight lesson. I ended up flying a four -seater plane next to the father with the child in my back.”

Floors

Horticultural gifts are a rich area for ideas. Sue, a teacher withdrawn from Hertfordshire, once received the call from Collegiate Rose. And Sen's leader Jackie says that one of his favorite gifts was a fern for his garden. “It reminds me of the child and his family that I supported over the years. There was a gift label that said:” Thank you for helping our son to grow. “I have had many coupons and came over the years, but the gifts that children make or choose themselves mean more.”

And teacher Angie Bonnel wrote to the filter to tell us the best gift she has received: a Pilea plant (or Chinese money). “Since then, I must have given at least 30 of its descendants and still have at least 10 prosperous plants in my house. It was such an attentive gift that it has also given pleasure to many others,” she says.

Rely on summer houses

While summer holidays can be a challenging moment for parents, for teachers it represents a well -deserved rest, and a great source of gift ideas. Together with “A full class interpretation of the high school musical”, Christie, a Yorkshire primary teacher, recalls with love that he received a money box to save for future vacations and candy. If you know that your teacher is making a great trip during the summer, they could consider something as a travel diary or even some of the cosmetics the size of a trip.

Food and drink

“A bottle of Jack Daniel's was just what he needed after a long and hard term,” says Alex, a sixth lancashire form teacher. It can be unimaginative, but many will be received with gratitude for many, if the teachers we talk to are something to happen. “I am always happy with beer,” he echoes the Mathematics Master Dave* of Chester.

But keeping it personal is always better, especially if they are not drinkers. “One of the best gifts I have received was a letter from a student who explains how inspiring my lessons had been and had grown up in their confidence,” says Louise. “It combined with a coca -Cola Light, because I wasn't drinking due to IVF treatment, which was really moving.”

Have fun with that too, Beverly adds: “A small child just got me some tea bags and a package of custard creams and said:” Do you love these, no, ladies? “
