The new East End club called Platinium in Paul Street has opened for business

The new East End club called Platinium in Paul Street has opened for business {as reported in the June column} but my information is that it´s just a Soho style rip off joint moved east and so should be avoided like the plague both by girls and customers with so many better options in the area.

News of what seems to be a more valuable new venue reached me during the month. Agent Jessie Graham {see www.jessiesgirls.com} has opened a new venue in North London called Parker´s Bar, it´s part of the Spring Park Hotel at number 400, Seven Sisters Rd near Manor House tube on the Piccadilly line and has girls on during the evenings in the early part of the week. Jessie is an ex Rainbow dancer who was involved with the start up on the Inhibitions club at the Woolpack in Hayes and now also supplies girls to clubs in Hull and Glasgow.

Another North London venue Charlie Browns seems to be in terminal decline. CBs is only remaining topless only venue I know in London but has survived despite this as its location {Wood Green} offers restricted competition. To date girls have been provided by Mick Woods of Monsta entertainments {www.monstaentertainments.com} who has by all accounts done a good job despite various problems with the owner and his friends. Earlier this month however Mick was fired and the owner is currently doing the bookings himself which sounds like a prelude to permanent decline to me.

The West End club Sophisticats which this month celebrates the first anniversary of it´s new ownership has just won the first full nude licence to be awarded so far by Westminster council. This means that dancers do not have to be on stage to be totally nude and the 3 ft rule no longer applies. This puts them one up on the more high profile places in Westminster.

Got the 2nd issue of Pole Position the new lap dancing magazine a few days ago and there was an interesting feature on Majingoes the Docklands club, which opened in July, and the new GMB approved contracts. Alan Whitehead said that the union were so pleased with the contracts that they had written to Tower Hamlets council supporting the license application for the club. This may be one of the reasons that the application went through with so little opposition and could be a lesson for other club owners.

Talking of objections, an attempt to open the first lap-dancing club in Oxford called Baby is being opposed by the locals on the usual spurious grounds plus the fact that it will distract the students there from their studies! Unless it´s changed a lot since my days as a student I can´t see many having enough money to be distracted very often in term time! Mind you they would probably have done OK when Bill Clinton did his Rhodes scholarship!

Top Polish model Anouska {who regularly works at Bob Singleton´s Full Service shows see www.fullservice.org.uk} has been adopted as mascot for the charity Bunberry Cricket club whose members include ex pros like David Gower and Ian Botham plus cricket loving superstars like Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger.

Last year´s Miss Shoreditch runner up the lovely Tania has now opened up her web site fully {see www.tanianet.com} now and in my view it´s the best site of all of the current girls. After a break she is returning to dancing and is available for feature dancer work throughout the UK and Europe.

Laptastic has announced the first UK Lap dancing championship {seewww.laptastic.co.uk} to be held towards the end of the year probably in the North West of England. Whether this will feature any London girls I don´t know at this stage but it should do as the best girls mainly work in the capital. The organisers envisage 1 girls entering from each club/agent {ie Miss Secrets or whatever} though whether this will work out or not I don´t know, previous stripping contests in the UK have normally been rigged in the favour of 1 particular club or group {except that is for the famous annual sex maniacs ball one, current champion Canadian Max of Olympia Moments and Rainbow}. These type of contests are big in the US and Australia and it would I feel be a good thing if they started over here as it encourages and rewards a higher standard of act.
