The south coast port of Portsmouth has been best known as the home of the Royal Navy for several hundred years and it remains the biggest base also containing much of the service’s history including Nelson’s flagship the Victory. The steady reduction in the numbers in the armed forces since WW2 has diluted the dominance of the Navy in the town in recent years. Elegance, the first and so far only table dancing club in the town opening in 2002, caters for a very mixed clientele of locals, visiting business men, and tourists as well as the armed forces.
Elegance is actually based in Southsea which is a seaside area away from the main docks. The club was extensively refurbished in 2004 and offers private topless dancing and a VIP room Wednesday to Saturday from 9pm to 2am. It still sells draft beer and caters for a wide range of clientele.
The management here make an effort to match the number of girls and their house fees to how busy the club is and also offer pole and table dancing lessons both to prospective dancers and interested non dancers.
