Peter Stringfellow has been a dominant force in London nightlife since he opened his first club in Covent Garden in 1981 setting new standards for sophistication, service, and accessibility . He has always been on the forefront of trends in entertainment and in 1996 was one of the first people in the UK to move into table dancing and since then Stringfellow’s has remained the most famous and successful club of it’s type in the UK possibly the world. It’s by far the highest profile club in the country, a regular haunt of national and international celebrities, and a byword for beautiful girls and top class hospitality. In 2006 he saw the opportunity to expand with a 2nd larger club purpose built as a table dancing venue in Wardour St in the historic centre of racy nightlife in the capital Soho
The new club retains many of the features of the original club including a top class restaurant, 5 star service, and luxurious décor but added in tables designed for dancers with more privacy, a genuine show stage, and the very latest sound system. The original club was always famous for beautiful girls and the 2 clubs now maintain the exactly the same standards despite the doubling on the dancer roster. If you are thinking of visiting the club my personal recommendation would be to book a table in the restaurant as the food is very good, it’s not particularly expensive, it saves the hefty £20 admission charge, and provides you with a comfortable base to enjoy your visit from.
The new club is larger than the original and this has given the opportunity to add in innovative design while retaining a cosy feel. It’s located at the Oxford St end if Wardour St so could not be more central in London.
