Peter Stringfellow had a very busy April as reported in last month’s column and was just as busy again in May as it has emerged that the long standing rumours of his opening a new club { his 3rd} in Dublin are correct. The new club is to be located at a former bar/disco called Shooters in Parnell St, at 12,500 sq ft it will be by far the biggest club in town. The current plan is to open in September after a £2m refit. I understand that further announcements on new ventures will be coming in the near future.

The ridiculous attempt by Glasgow council deputy leader James “ Crackpot” Coleman to appeal their own planning committees decision to grant FYEO a licence for a new club there predictably failed with council tax payers picking up a combined legal tab of circa £250k.
The old London strip Yahoo message board {home of the Miss Shoreditch competition} was deleted by Yahoo for no obvious reason. A new one has emerged on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/londonstrip
it has a lot less members still but otherwise seems more or less identical.
A new East End of London venue has just opened, it’s called the 247 Gentleman’s club at Club Rose in Bow {near the flyover} and is open Sunday to Wednesday 8am to 2am. Talking of the East End as forecast in March’s gossip the lovely Varona from Argentina {Miss Shoreditch 2002 and overall the top scorer in the first 5 contests} has started working again at the White Horse Shoreditch in May and will be working there regularly until August. More welcome news of 2 new Entertease strip venues. First the Brunel Club in Early Reading is to have members only strip nights from 8 to 12 on Friday, secondly the Speed the Plough { which had a previous brief spell as a strip pub in 2004} in Barton Le Clay, Bedfordshire has started having Friday strip sessions from 4pm to 11.
A first club in Chester is to open in the historic Rows {sort of ancient balconied 2 story shops unique in the UK} area, it’s called the Platinum and it’s in the Bridge St Row. Another new venue which opened in March unspotted by me is a club in Darlington called the Purple Zebra which is open Thursday to Saturday nights. The Evolution club in Barrow next door to the football club is due to open permanently in mid June.
The former Blue Leopard club in Liverpool which closed after being sold by it’s Leeds based parent re-opened on May 25th as “Rude” , a striptease/sports bar.

Caught out in different ways Jenifer Spencer and Julianne Beecher
Model and ex Seventh Heaven lap dancer Jennifer Spencer who appears in a Royal Bank advert has been arrested for credit card fraud. Another prosecution in May was of Julianne Beecher who was caught working at the Fantasy Lounge in Cardiff while claiming DHSS benefits .The owner of Angel’s Dublin Pat O Keeffe is facing fines of over £5,000 and hefty legal costs after a prosecution over the employment of a Nigerian dancer without a work permit at the Galway club.
An ex RAF servicewoman called Stephanie Hulme was funded £2,100 by the retraining board to do a pole dancing course to improve her employment prospects on leaving. She is now putting this training to good use dancing as Kitty at FYEO Mayfair.
News of 2 topless barmaid bars out west, the first is the Avondale Arms in Keyham, Plymouth and the 2nd Bed Bar in Torquay. Yet another pole dancing competition has emerged this time Midlands based with heats at Maymies club in Cannock and the Euphoria club in Bromsgrove during May and June leading to a grand final in Cannock on July 22nd.
