This month sees nominations for the 6th annual ” Miss Shoreditch ” competition to find the most popular girl currently working on the East End strip pub circuit. Last year´s winner was well known model Katherine Shannon who has worked at Browns and the White Horse during the year and is expected to be amongst the front runners once again.

Glasgow ” European capital of bigotry ” has set new heights of stupidity with deputy leader James ” crackpot” Coleman suing the council´s own planning committee over the decision to grant FYEO a license for a new club. This monumental piece of nonsense will apparently cost council taxpayers £50,000 which ever way it goes. Talking of FYEO the parent Ladhar group have also just acquired 3 pubs in the centre of Glasgow though there are no plans to turn these into strip places as yet.
Another bumper month for clubs with new as yet unnamed clubs being announced in High Street Newmarket, Heywood { Manchester}, and for the Merchant Store in Broad Street Birmingham. A second club in Norwich called Teasers on Dove street has now got a temporary license and should open soon. A 5th club in Leicester called the Avairy opened early in the month and as did the first pole dancing club { non nude} in Burnley called Afterlife.
The Blue X club in Leicester has not yet been closed down but it has been put into recievership but the Shapes club in Hull has now closed leaving that town with 3 clubs. The Indigo Bar in Hatfield has had to take down a poster of a bikini clad girl from the front of the club after the council recieved a single complaint ! The new Medusa club in Birmingham put up a sexy Santa poster which has caused something of a stir. A similar poster for Stringfellows in London has been criticised by the Advertising Standards people.
It has emerged that the man behind the new club Katz in Basildon is Phillip Whitehouse formerly a senior man in Spearmint and before that FYEO. Sam Kirli´s poleathon raised £1,500 for the “BBC Children in Need “appeal. It was reported in the papers that ex footballer Lee Chapman { husband of actress Lesley Ash} is going to buy a lap dancing club. Stafford’s Most Wanted club had a visit from the Drifters the famous soul group early in December.
