BARE – A CABARET DANCER’S LIFE

BARE is a unique account of the London and International cabaret circuit, written by a solo dancer who was part of that scene from 1975-2000. It is also a frank and sometimes shocking memoir of the author’s private life – her travels, loves and terrifying adventures on the road.

Based on the author’s detailed diaries, letters and notes – often written frantically backstage in lip liner, on beer mats and napkins – it is also a history of the entertainment business of that period and a testament to her fellow artistes.

BARE describes the arduous journey behind the glamour – through ballet school to professional contracts as an attraction show and the author’s search to find her father.

Described as ‘a riveting read’ and ‘fascinating, at times harrowing but still entertaining’, BARE has already attracted considerable interest from the media, with newspaper coverage, live interviews on BBC Radio Devon and Radio Cornwall and approaches from national magazines.
