The long awaited opening of the massive new FYEO City Road London club

The long awaited opening of the massive new FYEO City Road London club is now set for February 22nd. It is FYEO’s 7th club nationwide and marks the chain’s return to the capital after a gap of a couple of years. There is an advert for the new club on YouTube . Another club with a planned February opening is Gerard Simi’s Rembrandt club in Tooley St which created such a fuss last year but seems to have not been noticed this time. It’s to open every weekday after 9pm. Also opening early in 2008 is London’s 6th Secrets club, this is to be in Parker Street, Holborn.
Another popular regular from the London pub circuit Dutch Danielle is retiring from the scene apparently to have twins. The proposal to open a lap dancing club in the old Wandsworth Theatre has been withdrawn after local opposition though it’s still intended to open it as a conventional nightclub which will doubtless create much more trouble. Wildcats in Blackpool is in trouble with the local council over illicit acts and faces a hearing early in February. Talking of Blackpool the application to open a club in the basement of the Clifton Hotel has been withdrawn after council pressure. An application to start striptease in the Portland Hotel in Hove has been turned down and the Landlord has decided to turn it into a “family friendly” food pub.
An appeal has been won which should see Shrewsbury’s first club open in the New Year in the old Central Hall in Castle Gate. Yet another new club is proposed for Newcastle {the 5th by my count}, it’s to be the 5th club in the northern based Purple Door chain. Also in Newcastle the Officers Deck has applied for a 4am license and again upset the local Church. Privilege Scarborough’s only club has re-opened after being shut for a couple of months. The proposal to re-open Prague Junction {right} in Fareham as a lap dancing club looks like getting the go ahead in February. An application has been made to start dancing at the Moby Grapes pub in Stockton.

Burlesque superstar Dita con Tease has now a sponsorship arrangement with the liquor Cointreau and a special show called “Be Cointreauversial”. She appeared in London with this in December and expects to return in 2008, here is a video of her in action . Soho Clubs and Bars which operates amongst others the old Revuebar and the Candy Bar has put itself up for sale. Club Sargam in Edgeware now has a web site
