Apparently strip club regular and X factor judge Simon Cowell has been trying to get fellow judge Danni Minogue to accompany him in visits to stripclubs where he is filming. She has reportedly so far turned him down though she did take a pole dancing course a few years ago at FYEO Mayfair and was later filmed at the same club in a lesbian encounter with a performer so such clubs are hardly unknown to her
An interesting new venture in the capital is the “Pleasure Garden “ in Goding St, Vauxhall which is to run all day Friday strip shows starting at 8am aimed at the nearby new Covent Garden crowd “Morning Glory”, 12pm “ Afternoon Delight”, and 4pm “ Sunset Babes” finishing at 8pm. It’s connected to the successful lesbian “Candy Bar” in Soho but aimed this time at men and hopes to open on the 16th of November. It is to be full nude with jug collections and private dances.
Also opening in November is London’s largest club FYEO City Rd which is planning to open on the 21st just in time for the Christmas rush. The White Horse, Shoreditch High Street is now open until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights. An application has been made to convert the old Archway Tavern { left} in North London into a lap dancing club and is creating the usual ill informed opposition, it goes to the council in December. Wembley’s new “Hushush” club mentioned in last month’s column opened on October 10th .
The group that own Player’s in Doncaster has applied to open Chesterfield’s first club in the old Queen’s Head pub there, presumably it will be renamed Players in due course. A new club is opening at Mambo’s in Urmston near Old Trafford, Manchester. Another new club has apparently opened in Church St, Blackpool {there must be at least 10 there now} though I have no name for it as yet.
A further club has applied to open in the former Drum pub in the centre of Bracknell to be called Angels. A bar called Bar a Cuda in Londonderry has started having regular male and female strip shows which is still pretty unusual in Northern Ireland. Newcastle’s Officer’s Deck opened in October.
Welcome news of that rarest of beasts outside London a strip pub, the Retro Bar in Wakefield has started having topless shows on Sunday afternoons. The 5th Pole Passion contest was held in Brighton in October see
