French Quarter and Bourbon Street. The EXPO—the multi-billion-dollar adult nightclub industry’s only national Convention and Tradeshow—has traditionally been held in Las Vegas, but moves to New Orleans for a change of pace.“In recent years we have had adult nightclub owners from Canada, Mexico, Panama, Europe and Australia attend the EXPO. And last year, a large contingent from Moscow not only attended, but used what they learned at the EXPO to start an association of adult club owners in their country” says ED Publisher Don Waitt.“We welcome and encourage show participation at the EXPO from club owners worldwide. For example, one of our exhibitors, The World’s Pageants, will be showcasing over a dozen of the top showgirls from Canada at the EXPO,” says Waitt. “In recognition of the huge adult nightclub market outside of the U.S., we have added an International Club of the Year category to the Annual ED Awards Show. Pre-nomination votes can be placed at www.theEDawards.com in May, with final voting done in June/July.”EXPO 2015 will feature a two-day Tradeshow, legal panels and a return of the very popular “Staff Training Seminars,” where specialized training will be offered to general managers, floor managers, front door personnel, bartenders, waitresses and security personnel. A brand new website dedicated exclusively to the EXPO—www.theEDexpo.com—contains all of the latest information on the EXPO, including EXPO registration, exhibiting and sponsorship opportunities.
Highlight events include the EXPO 2015 “Opening Night Bourbon Street Pub Crawl,” which begins with a one-hour reception at the host hotel (Hilton Riverside), followed by visits at four top New Orleans adult clubs—the Penthouse Club, Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, Rick’s Cabaret and Babe’s Cabaret—each hour, on the hour, featuring complimentary drinks and a showcase performance by one of the industry’s top feature entertainers.
The Annual ED’s Awards, the adult nightclub industry’s only national awards show, finds a brand new home in the most historic theater in all of New Orleans—the Civic Theatre. Built in 1906, the Civic Theatre is a beautiful historic structure, and care has been taken at every step to preserve these details.
The final day of the show is a mix of business and pleasure. Following a morning of legal panels, the first annual “EXPOsed” Dancewear Fashion Show will be held on the Steamboat Natchez, the last authentic steamboat on the mighty Mississippi! EXPO attendees will take a two-hour, Cajun food-catered cruise on the Mississippi River on this legendary steamboat, which also boasts a large air-conditioned area in the center of the boat.
“We couldn’t be more excited to make this announcement about the International Club of the Year Award, and we’re expecting this EXPO to be the biggest and most well-attended in the convention’s history,” says Waitt. For more information, visit www.theEDexpo.com or call (727) 726-3592.
