Cleopatra’s Lounge opening in Huddersfield.

At the time of writing this it still looks like the new “sex encounter” law will come into force on the 6th of April. Scotland is not affected by this new law but I understand that Edinburgh council has had a sudden crackdown and banned full nude dancing in clubs in the city that have had it for over 25 years.A study by Kingston University has found that over 30% of female students would seriously consider working in lap dance bars in an attempt to pay all the government tuition fees this useless bunch has imposed. An ironic side effect of “hyper feminist” hysterical Harperson’s vendetta against lap dancing clubs therefore could be to either reduce the number of female students who can afford the fees at Uni or encourage them to move into escort agencies as clubs are closed down.

The “La Salsa” club of Huddersfield mentioned last month has been stripped of it’s license by the local council after 10 years of operation due to various license breaches, there may be an appeal. The Halifax club of the same name re-opened after a months closure. Huddersfield though has a brand new club opening called Cleopatra’s Lounge see www.cleopatraslounge.co.uk to learn more about Cleopatra’s Lounge and get contact information: https://stripclubguide.com/place/cleopatras-lounge/
Lots of activity in the south west, “Diva’s” in Newquay ,which industry veteran Alan Whitehead {left} has been involved with for several years, had lots of problems with the local council in 2009 and shut for the winter but will re-open in the spring at new premises. The former “Teasers” in Plymouth has also been acquired and renamed “Divas” and a 3rd club of the same name is scheduled to open in Torquay before the summer comes. The “Shadow Lounge” in Weston Super Mare has had it’s license suspended after a 14 year old girl was found to be working there during a Sun expose.
Former strip-magazine coverdancer Tania Amazon is boxing another model in a charity boxing match for the British Heart Foundation at Southend Rugby club on May 1st.
The “Crown” at Knaphill which created quite a bit of publicity by starting striptease in response to the smoking ban in 2007 had it’s last strip show until late summer on the 31st March. I also understand that the “Q Bar” in Aldershot, “Pink” in Windsor, and “Paradise” in Reading have also either shut completely or stopped having dancers.

A new pub called the “Claremont” at West Byfleet has started weekly strip sessions, as has one called “Goldy” in Woking, and shows are also starting at an Indian restaurant called the “ Spice Centre” in Uxbridge road, Slough. All of the above are supplied by Angels Exotic. A new Entertease pub called the “Dane Valley Arms” in Margate has started Saturday strip shows as has another called the “Ball Tree Inn” in Lancing, Sussex . A new club in Skegness called the “Coyote strip saloon” opened at the end of March as did one in Chesterfield called “Krystals”  .

The former “ Cheeta’s” in Sheffield which only opened in 2009 has been sold and re-launched as “Scores” by ex Spearmint veteran Phillip Whitehouse . The long established “White Horse” in High Wycombe is starting Sunday evening shows for the first time while the even longer established “ White Horse” in Shoreditch has stopped Sunday afternoon shows after over 30 years. It remains open the other 6 days a week.

Company Director Ian Tulloch was convicted of embezzling £100k from his company which was apparently spent at Spearmint Rhino.
The Royal Opera is to produce a new opera based on the life of Anna
Nichole Smith {who married a aged billionaire who met her at the strip club she worked at in Texas right}, it’s currently scheduled to open at Covent Garden in February 2011.

The “Thirst Lodge” in Oxford mentioned in previous columns opened as a lap dance club in March though I understand that there is a further court hearing scheduled for April .The application to open the “Brewery Tap” pub in Reading as a strip venue has been turned down by the local council.
The venerable Robert Peel  in Kingston upon Thames which has featured strippers for over 30 years .
The attempt to open a club in Castle Gate, Shrewsbury mentioned previously seems to have been finally abandoned.
