The Magnificent 11
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a merry Christmas and a prosperous {despite the financial climate looking extremely grim!} 2012.
Filming has been going on in South London for a production called the “Magnificent 11” starring Robert Vaughan, also featured is former strip magazine coverdancer Solitaire {left}.
An attempt to restart stripping at the old Double Century pub {which had girls in the 90s} in George Green near Slough to be called “Pandora’s” has been turned down by the council. Not sure if they will appeal.
The sham public consultation in Tower Hamlets which closed in the middle of October has been further delayed by using forensic consultants to verify the responses. Call me an old cynic but I suspect that means the initial vote did not go the way the council wants and that they are looking for ways round this. A result of this consultation is not now expected until after the New Year.
The “Cornucopia” pub in Southend now has Tease girls on Mon to Fri from 8pm onwards. I understand that although the “Honeypot” in Maidenhead went into receivership {as reported last month} it has remained open as before.
Spearmint has closed the Colnbrook
I understand Spearmint Rhino has closed the Colnbrook {near Heathrow right} club but that it’s likely to reopen under the “Beavers” format presumably as sister to the one in Watford. It’s one of the oldest clubs Spearmint in the UK has having operated for over 10 years.
In Leicester 3 of the 5 clubs { all parts of chains Spearmint Rhino, Platinum Lace, and Baby Blue} have had no objections whatsoever so will get new licenses whereas the other 2 places Angels and Panache have had objections {some from buildings not yet built !} and now have a more uncertain future. The 2 clubs in Weston super Mare the “Shadow Lounge” and “T’s” have both been granted licenses provided they don’t open before 10pm. Also getting an SEV is the “Prince of Wales” strip pub in Rickmansworth.
The troubled “Diamonds and Pearls” club in Henley has been sold and will revert to a conventional late night bar.
Peter Stringfellow
I understand Peter Stringfellow has gone green and ordered a Mitsubishi electric car {similar to the one left} instead of his usual Porsche’s and Ferrari’s. Possibly this is to burnish his public image as Peter is currently threatening to run for Westminster council to oppose the recent introduction of evening and weekend parking charges in the borough.
“Charlie’s Bar” in the City of London which had been the only licensed strip venue in the square mile was raided in December to ensure it complies with the council’s completely arbitrary decision to ban striptease using the disgraceful Harperson bill.
A new bar in the same complex as the “Rouge” lap dancing club called “Kiss” has opened in Carlisle featuring bare chested men as waiters and regular male strip shows. Male stripper Paul Tubb was prosecuted for stealing a purse and blackberry at a Hen night he performed at.
