Landlady of the Queen Anne pub in Vauxhall murdered

Denise D’Courtenay who has been landlady of the Queen Anne pub in Vauxhall for over 30 years was murdered while on holiday in the Dominican Republic at the end of July. The Queen Anne was for many years the only strip pub south of the river and has been presenting striptease for nearly 50 years. In contrast there was double good news at the beginning of July when MSP’s threw out Sandra White’s anti lap dance bill covering Scotland and a judge not only found in favour of the “Thurst Lodge” in Oxford but also awarded them £12,000 in costs against the nearby Church which had brought the baseless court case.

A former restaurant called “Korkers” in Soho has apparently started lap dancing nights while the “26 Taboo” club in East Smithfield {left} which was also going down the lap dancing route has apparently decided on Burlesque shows instead. “Divas” club in Newquay is having more license problems with the council despite support from the professionals in the council’s planning department. Councillors from Cornwall visited the “T2” club in Plymouth for an expenses paid bit of fact finding !

The “Diamonds and Pearls” club which opened in Henley creating quite a furore a few months ago now has a web site  . The unnamed club in the gay sector of Newcastle which got a license last month has decided not to open as a lap dance bar after all.

An ex dancer called Nicola Bishop who worked at the Platinum club: https://stripclubguide.com/place/the-platinum-lounge-burlesque-club/ in Chester and was also a forensic scientist is in court for being involved in a drug related murder.
